In the interview by Paul Bradshaw with Rick Warren, Rick said:
People ask me, What is the purpose of life?
And I respond: In a nutshell, life is preparation for eternity. We were not made to last forever, and God wants us to be with Him in Heaven.


One day my heart is going to stop, and that will be the end of my body-- but not the end of me.
I may live 60 to 100 years on earth, but I am going to spend trillions of years in eternity. This is the warm-up act - the dress rehearsal. God wants us to practice on earth what we will do forever in eternity..


We were made by God and for God, and until you figure that out, life isn't going to make sense.
Life is a series of problems: Either you are in one now, you're just coming out of one, or you're getting ready to go into another one.
The reason for this is that God is more interested in your character than your comfort; God is more interested in making your life holy than He is in making your life happy.


We can be reasonably happy here on earth, but that's not the goal of life. The goal is to grow in character, in Christ likeness.
This past year has been the greatest year of my life but also the toughest, with my wife, Kay, getting cancer.
I used to think that life was hills and valleys - you go through a dark time, then you go to the mountaintop, back and forth. I don't believe that anymore.


Rather than life being hills and valleys, I believe that it's kind of like two rails on a railroad track, and at all times you have something good and something bad in your life.
No matter how good things are in your life, there is always something bad that needs to be worked on.
And no matter how bad things are in your life, there is always something good you can thank God for.
You can focus on your purposes, or you can focus on your problems:
If you focus on your problems, you're going into self-centeredness, which is my problem, my issues, my pain.' But one of the easiest ways to get rid of pain is to get your focus off yourself and onto God and others.


We discovered quickly that in spite of the prayers of hundreds of thousands of people, God was not going to heal Kay or make it easy for her- It has been very difficult for her, and yet God has strengthened her character, given her a ministry of helping other people, given her a testimony, drawn her closer to Him and to people.


You have to learn to deal with both the good and the bad of life.
Actually, sometimes learning to deal with the good is harder. For instance, this past year, all of a sudden, when the book sold 15 million copies, it made me instantly very wealthy.
It also brought a lot of notoriety that I had never had to deal with before. I don't think God gives you money or notoriety for your own ego or for you to live a life of ease.


So I began to ask God what He wanted me to do with this money, notoriety and influence. He gave me two different passages that helped me decide what to do, II Corinthians 9 and Psalm 72.
First, in spite of all the money coming in, we would not change our lifestyle one bit.. We made no major purchases.
Second, about midway through last year, I stopped taking a salary from the church.


Third, we set up foundations to fund an initiative we call The Peace Plan to plant churches, equip leaders, assist the poor, care for the sick, and educate the next generation.


Fourth, I added up all that the church had paid me in the 24 years since I started the church, and I gave it all back. It was liberating to be able to serve God for free. We need to ask ourselves: Am I going to live for possessions? Popularity?
Am I going to be driven by pressures? Guilt? Bitterness? Materialism? Or am I going to be driven by God's purposes (for my life)?


When I get up in the morning, I sit on the side of my bed and say, God, if I don't get anything else done today, I want to know You more and love You better. God didn't put me on earth just to fulfill a to-do list. He's more interested in what I am than what I do.
That's why we're called human beings, not human doings.

Our parents and grandparents were a much bigger threat! And some of

us are still afraid of em!


Didn't that feel good? Just to go back and say, "Yeah, I remember that!"

Let's go back to the time when...

Decisions were made by going "eeny-meeny-miney-mo"

Mistakes were corrected by simply exclaiming, "do over!"

"Race issues" meant arguing about who ran the fastest.


Money issues were handled by whoever was the banker in "monopoly"


Catching fireflies could happily occupy an entire evening


It wasn't odd to have two or three "best" friends.

Being old, referred to anyone over 20. (CRAP! I'm officially old!)


The worst thing you could catch from the opposite sex was cooties.


Nobody was prettier than Mom


Scrapes and bruises were kissed by mom or grandma and made better


It was a big deal to finally be tall enough to ride the "big people" rides at the amusement park.

Getting a foot of snow was a dream come true.

Abilities were discovered because of a "double-dog-dare"


Spinning around, getting dizzy and falling down was cause for giggles.

The worst embarrassment was being picked last for a team.

Water balloons were the ultimate, ultimate weapon.


Older siblings were your worst tormentors, but also your fiercest protector

A father passing by his son's bedroom was astonished
to see the bed was nicely made and everything was
picked up. Then he saw an envelope propped up
prominently on the center of the bed. It was
addressed, "Dad".

With the worst premonition, he opened the envelope and
read the letter with trembling hands:

Dear Dad, It is with great regret and sorrow that I'm
writing you. I had to elope with my new girlfriend
because I wanted to avoid a scene with Mom and you.
I've been finding real passion with Joan and she is so
nice-even with all her piercing, tattoos, and her
tight Motorcycle clothes. But it's not only the
passion dad, she's pregnant and Joan said that we will
be very happy. Even though you don't care for her as
she is so much older than I, she already owns a
trailer in the woods and has a stack of firewood for
the whole winter. She wants to have many more children
with me and that's now one of my dreams too.

Joan taught me that marijuana doesn't really hurt
anyone and we'll be growing it for us and trading it
with her friends for all the cocaine and ecstasy we
want. In the meantime, we'll pray that science will
find a cure for AIDS so Joan can get better; she sure
deserves it!!

Don't worry Dad, I'm 15 years old now and I know how
to take care of myself. Someday I'm sure we'll be back
to visit so you can get to know your grandchildren.

FOOTPRINTS...A New Version

Imagine you and the Lord Jesus are walking down the road together. For much of the way, the Lord's footprints go along steadily, consistently, rarely varying the pace.


But your footprints are a disorganized stream of zigzags, starts, stops, turnarounds, circles, departures, and returns.
For much of the way, it seems to go like this, but gradually your footprints come more in line with the Lord's, soon paralleling, His consistently.

You and Jesus are walking as true friends!

This seems perfect, but then an interesting thing happens: Your footprints that once etched the sand next to Jesus' are now walking precisely in His steps.
Inside His larger footprints are your smaller ones, you and Jesus are becoming one.

This goes on for many miles, but gradually you notice another change. The footprints inside the large footprints seem to grow larger.

Eventually they disappear altogether. There is only one set of footprints. They have become one.

This goes on for a long time, but suddenly the second set of footprints is back. This time it seems even worse! Zigzags all over the place. Stops. Starts. Gashes in the sand. A variable mess of prints.

You are amazed and shocked.
Your dream ends. Now you pray:
"Lord, I understand the first scene, with zigzags and fits. I was a new Christian; I was just learning. But You walked on through the storm and helped me learn to walk with You."

"That is correct."
"And when the smaller footprints were inside of Yours, I was actually learning to walk in Your steps, following You very closely."

"Very good.. You have understood everything so far."
When the smaller footprints grew and filled in Yours, I suppose that I was becoming like You in every way."

"Precisely."
"So, Lord, was there a regression or something? The footprints separated, and this time it was worse than at first."

There is a pause as the Lord answers, with a smile in His voice.
"You didn't know? It was then that we danced!"

Funny how you can send a thousand 'jokes' through e-mail and they spread like wildfire, but when you start sending messages regarding the Lord, people think twice about sharing. Spread the Word and give thanks to the Lord for He is good!

Who is a great role model?

How do you decide
Who is a great role model someone whom you can look up to because of what you see or hear on the tv without knowing what trails they have been through.Can you look into a famous person life when the cameras are off knowing all that they do when they think no one is watching if you could do you think that they will still be someone you would want to have as a role model?Would it matter to you if you can have someone that is not a celebrity be your role model or is it all about the fame of being seen or having hellafied money and a lot of bling-bling.

The talk they talk on tv will sound so good but when off the set it's a whole different thing it's like smoke in the mirror with a lot of celebrities they say one thing while doing another things that's why everything look like it came to them so easy without all the struggles because they don't show you all stress that come with it.


So many of these young kids are taking by that ,that they try to live the life as those celebrity by taking the quick route not going through all the steps that those famous people had to go through because the media don't show all that leaving them clueless to the point where all they can see is that they have money and nice fancy things.

Or should a role model be: someone you know that has been through a lot and you watch their struggles and their progress,is it a single parent doing it all to take care of the family or could it be a two parent household holding it down trying to take care of home and so forth.

Would you want a role model to be someone that you can actually learn from know the hard roads that they had to overcome to get to the place they are at now and that it didn't happen over-night .

I think a role model should be a close family or friend someone you can talk to when you need to talk or when you have concerns and needs, and you know that they are just a phone call away.

A role model should be someone that is willing to help you show you as much as they can to be a great person they should be there ready to give you advice,love and the comfort that you need.

A role model should know your fears that would means as for them being your role model you will be able to talk to them about anything and still feel comfortable with yourself after words they has to be someone you can trust.

A role model is not someone you you can't count on someone that can't be there so ask yourself who do you consider your role model a celebrity should be maybe someone you admire that does great things to help other someone that have a positive light to them but you know that they can't be reach to give you that advice the comfort you need because you can't call on them when you need to talk.

I wrote on this topic because my son had to do a paper on role models and i had to explain to him what one really was to me and of course he picked me and Coby Bryant! Stay blessed all.

I would have to say No absolutely not It's like two big egos clashing with each other they just don't mix neither one can't stand being in the presence of the other. when have you noticed that love and fear work together let me break it down a little bit for ya ok here we go!

Fear is made up of many different emotions some of them being anger,Guilt,pain,insecure, just about anything that makes you feel negative toward self or another person or threatened,terrorized by any known and unknown thing,fear leaves you ready to attack what you don't understand,fear makes you keep your guards up all the time ready to cause bodily harm to anyone that makes them feel like they had to step out of their comfort zone,fear makes you unable to trust.Fear makes you constantly looking over your shoulder not having a clue about what's coming at you.when something feels out of line your body immediately gets pushed into overdrive, fear can keep you on the edge at all times and so forth..


Love is also made up of mixed emotions some of them are Happiness,self-respect,inner peace,forgiveness,smiles,giving instead of always receiving,love will help you change lives,love help build a better you love makes us confident in who we are and what we have become,love will let you test your limits without hurting someone,love will set us free,love can build a bridge where people had no idea where one could go, love don't let us take things for granted love share the beauty of life love is a message within its self,love lets us hold hands and be creative when need be, love has no face, color,no name,love doesn't cause fear,love lets you lend a shoulder to lean on,love is like a rainbow it's enough to go around and we all should try and cherish it.

When you choose to love the one you are with then you are also excepting that person flaws and difference loving someone can be a beautiful thing once you have mastered the basic technique.There are times when a broken heart can lead you down a whole new path to self worth.loving someone to much to the point where you can't see the road ahead of you can be a dangerous thing, There is nothing you can do to make a person love you that love has to come from within.fear often plays a great part in how someone reacts to love they afraid to show it some people like to say love is like wearing your heart on your sleeve in some ways it's true you have to be careful how you deal with it don't play with it,it can hurt a whole lot of people.

some people have a big ego they like to convince them self that they are more then what other see them as and they will do anything to get feedback from another person to satisfy their ego a person with a big ego needs to learn to love them self before they can give them self to give that they need to love the image they was given if you don't love yourself how can you know and give yourself take care.

Where do a strong women go for comfort?

Where do a strong women go for comfort? I tell myself every day that i am some body and ask myself where i want to be just as the wind blows life can take you in so many different directions but you have to be careful some of those winds are strong and can blow you all over the place that can land you in a ruff situation.

That's why you should always try to have your head on right to try and prevent certain things from happening,i know of course you can't prevent everything but you can make yourself aware of what's going on around you.as a confident lady you are use to doing everything,you put up with things that you have no idea why you are putting up with it or you just go by your everyday life fixing and bonding things to try and make it right.a strong women knows how to soothe the soul as a matter of fact she is so use to taking care her self that when a man see it they often feel intimidated by her uniqueness that make a man ego react in such a strange way.

don't get me wrong there are some men out there that loves for a women to be independent that way they don't have to try so hard to take care of her as one man told me that's good for a women to be independent that way he can keep some money in his pocket.Let me say this a person can only break you if you let them that's not true not all women are out for what's in a man pocket some are out for his love and his heart. but if a man wants a good strong confident women to take care of him he has to put out the duckets (money) too.in a relationship both have to give it's not a one way street where one can leech off the other.

A strong women can stand a storm and not afraid to ask for help when it's needed,a strong women doesn't mind crying when her heart has been tested,a strong women knows that she is not a bitch or a whore a strong women is one that is determine to turn her life around and do what others fear doing a strong women knows how the bring up children on her own strong women is someone who lived a rough life but is determine to correct it a strong women want let anyone stand in her way when she is trying to accomplish things

A strong women knows where her comfort zone is and when to put it to use a strong women knows that God is the first stop to your comfort zone go to GOD for prayer and for comfort. like Queen Latifah said very well "I am someone with or without this man i am someone with or without this job,i am someone with or without these tight jeans,I am a strong woman i can survive" so lets all be confident in who we are and always remember to love yourself with all your mind body and soul that the second place you should search for your comfort zone.

A strong women knows how to say no even when her mind wants to say yes a strong women knows how to show love and give love to others a strong women knows that she doesn't have to bow down or be a servant to men or any one else for that matter a strong women knows how to forgive a strong women knows her limits a strong women knows that everyone has the same color blood a strong women knows she has to give her best to get the best well take care !

Find your destination in life.

When we first enter this world we are just a temporary gift that's just passing by we all was sent here with a Divine destination we don't know what this road may turn into but somehow most of us manage to make it through.
Some people spend their whole life trying to figure out how life works while others has it all figured out got it made at least to a certain point, that's why with life most people walk the walk of their every day lives searching for a way to make things work not understanding the true gift that life has to offer they search so hard that they are passing the most important things of life up just to get to the place they think they are suppose to be.
With our eyes our mind takes photos of everyday images not aware that those images that are taken are stored some place special for our everyday usage we can often put them together in a dream,in hopes that we have,and whatever it is that we call love,those images are also put together as big screen to help us figure things out so we can make those important decision. our eyes is like a camera and the mind is like a photo album we collect them and put it up for safe keeping for later resources.
Whiteout those memories we have nothing we will be walking around with no purpose and will always be struggling to get to their Divine point in life.That's why we should always try to make the best out of everything that we do don't take life for granted cause time Waite for no one to be on top you have to strive and go after what you want even if it mean you have to change but in a positive way when you find out what it is you want to be don't be afraid go for it and always remember we was all put here to grow and become the best at what it is we want to do take care all!

Challenges

When a door shut another one will open as we are running through this earth we are faced with several different challenges that are given to us.We can't spend our lives complaining about what other people are saying about us nor can we just sit back and think that all things will come to us if we want something we have to go out and get it that's why GOD has put challenges here for us not to harm us but to better us and to make us appreciate things and to see the beauty this life has to offer to make us do something with our lives we have a mission to do.
We can't complain about others blessing because we don't know what is going on behind closed doors we don't know what they had to overcome to get there.we must not live our life for less we have to challenge it we can't be the tail of everything we have to be the head that strong person that is on a mission to get their blessings.You can't let the enemy distract you from your challenges he can't not stop you only distract you so he can take away from your blessings.
The flesh is weak it will let you do wrong just to distract you from getting your work done challenge your self do something you think you can't do give it your best and iam pretty sure that you will purpose.Always know that GOD can open doors that no man can shut always be mentally prepared don't worry about what others say if you do you will loose sight of everything that you is are trying to accomplish you will be struggling in your own blood hurting your own self and your destiny.
You should never want to leave this life without challenging yourself be the best you can because the sky is the limit and you know we can't reach the sky so there is always something out there for us to challenge and if you have ever been hurt so badly and you feel so numb inside don't give up challenge it iam sure it will get better.
If you don't challenge yourself you can't get the best from yourself if you just sit back and do nothing but pray for a blessing its not going to happen you have to show that you are putting in some type of effort just to let GOD know you are trying and you are excepting that challenge and with his help you will move forth then when you feel it's to much you let GOD take over then he will at least know that you tried.GOD wants us to be doers have faith in ourselves so that we can challenge ourselves to new things if you don't take challenges we are not pushing not trying to better ourselves.
When you challenge yourself it makes you want to be somebody that want to go somewhere in life we wasn't put here just to chill but to help one another out when they need it a challenge is something you have to be willing to put your fears aside maybe even test your faith and your strength to get you their Challenges is what set us apart from everyone else you have those that are shakers and movers and those that are just shakers doing half of the job.
in some challenges it can be very fun who want to spend there whole life here doing the same thing i don't go explore the world if you can do what you never thought of or what you only dream of put those fears aside learn who you really are challenge it have fun don't live life not knowing you didn't challenge yourself to be the best you can be take life and run with it there is a lot of exciting things out there awaiting you Unlock your doors to all possibilities take care all remember fear has no name,face or color so don't claim it this world was give to you take advantage and use it
